As part of our epic World Usability Day promotion for 2014, and because this year's theme is 'engagement', we've invited our partners to send us images of things they've been finding engaging in their daily lives.
Today we get to hear from the legendary Lou Rosenfeld — information architect extraordinaire, and founder of Rosenfeld Media which, among other things, produces some of the slickest and most high-quality books on user experience design in the industry.
He's offered us 21 digital books to give away as part of WUD. And has sent us this short anecdote to share with you.
Lou Rosenfeld on engagement
"Engagement. Sometimes it makes me very angry. Like this:
Just when I thought I'd gotten my urges to constantly check what the world thinks about me under control, Medium comes along.
Medium has made it insanely easy to post whatever the hell I want. So they've on-boarded me in an engaging manner.
Perhaps more importantly, they've nailed that other critical point in the experience: the place where I'd normally drop off. To keep me coming back and posting again and again, they've provided just enough analytics to be insanely... engaging.
And this is what makes me so angry.
Well played, Medium.
Now off to reload that page."
